Updates to application forms

• We've removed the fee and payment information (no fee applies from 1 October 2023).

VIN approval applications now cost $39.70. From 1 October, each time you apply you’ll need to pay for a unique PDF download from Blue Star.

To apply:

1. Order a VIN approval form in the Blue Star portal and pay by credit or debit card.
2. Blue Star will email you a PDF which you can print, fill out and scan (please keep an electronic copy).
3. Send the completed form to mvapprovals@nzta.govt.nz for processing.
4. We'll use the unique serial number on the form to confirm you've paid.

You can purchase multiple PDFs in a single transaction.
